Erlene's barbecued meatballs
Meatballs:

2 lbs. ground beef |
2 eggs |

3/4 tsp. salt |
1/3 C. grated cheese |
|
2 Tbs. minced onion |
3/4 c. milk |
|
1-1/2 C. bread crumbs |
pepper |
|
1 T. Worcestershire sauce |
8-10 hot buttered buns |
Sauce:
|
2 Tbs. bacon drippings |
2 tsp. worcestershire sauce |
|
1 sm. minced onion |
1/2 tsp. dry mustard |
|
1 C. catsup |
salt, pepper and chili powder |
|
1/3 c. brown sugar |
to taste |
|
1-1/2 Tbs. vinegar |
1/4-1/2 tsp. liquid smoke |
Mix and shape meat mixture into balls and place in baking
pan. Bake at 325 until excess fat can be poured off. Then pour sauce over meat
balls and finish baking until nicely browned.
Sauce: Brown onions and bacon. Then add other
ingredients and simmer about 15 mon.
