1 pkg. (12 oz.) vanilla chips

32 wooden craft sticks

1 pkg. (16 oz) double-stuffed

2 Tbs.  shortening, divided

chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies

1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips


In a microwave or double boiler, melt vanilla chips and 1 tablespoon shortening; stir until smooth.  Twist apart sandwich cookies.  Dip the  end of  popsicle stick into melted chips; place on a cookie half and top with another half.  Place cookies  on  a waxed paper-lined baking sheet;  freeze for 15 min.  Reheat vanilla chip mixture again if necessary; dip frozen cookies into mixture until completely covered.  Return to the baking sheet;  freeze 30 minutes longer.  Melt the chocolate and remaining  shortening; stir until smooth.  Drizzle over cookies.  Store in an airtight container.
